Is there any way to mod a webcam so I use it as input to a video camera or other recording device?

this is in a draft CAM paintball mask and my dad does not want his old digi camera for that shot.

Yes, you can use the software to do so. However, the camera must be connected to a computer. maybe get a backpack with plenty of foam padding or something. A webcam in a memory device does not work, webcams need a computer to function.
